Pressrelease: Starter kit for ARM9 and Linux 2.6

AT91RM9200 Processor from Atmel and Linux 2.6 with its increased real time capabilities and mature support for ARM architecture makes a perfect combination for embedded systems requiring high performance, fast response times and reliability. Emtrion GmbH has put together a starter kit which takes all advantages of this combination and provides you a quick start to the embedded Linux development.
HiCO.ARM9 is a true Single Board Computer (SBC) built around the AT91RM9200 processor. It provides the usual interfaces like 10/100-Mbps Ethernet, Serial, USB host and device, LCD Graphics, touch screen and MMC/SD card. The HiCO.nect interface provides access to the system bus and allows you to use HiCO.ARM9 as a core module on your own hardware design. The Single Board Computer has 32MB Flash and 64MB RAM on board.
The full-featured Linux Board Support Package (BSP) for HiCO.ARM9 is based on the latest 2.6.12 kernel. It includes drivers and software support for all of the above mentioned hardware interfaces and more. Ready configured Linux kernel, root file system and collection of user space software (busybox, Qt embedded, etc.) gives you a kick-start into the application software development.
Ready built GNU tool chain with full GCC C/C++ cross compiler and debugger for ARM are also included. With Qt embedded you can develop professional and attractive graphical user interfaces. Qt is a very well documented, industrial grade graphics library from Trolltech.
The starter kit consists of HiCO.ARM9 SBC with pre-installed Linux system including all necessary cables. The BSP comes with full source code and no royalties attached. The documentation clearly explains how to take the features of the software and hardware into use and how to customize the system to fit your needs.
